Strengthening Our Sisterhood
It's almost 2020. Time to leave the petty bullshit aside.
The year 2019 was a good year for many women and we will continue to make strides towards individual achievements but is that enough? Is it enough that we excel as individuals while so many women are struggling? Our goal with the Queendom is to grow together. We are not successful until we all rise.
"If you want to grow up to be a woman of brains, beauty, and power, link hands with other women."
During our local Fort Lauderdale meetup we discussed some of the reasons why women don't come together. We examined how competition and jealousy create a negative culture for women. We commented on how the judgement of one another also adds to the division. And of course, we discussed the plague of social programming. The verdict is in. Simply put, it's going to take time and effort to restore our sisterhood. From there, we got together to come up with a list of commandants to help guide us.
Commandant #1
Let's not compete with one another. We don't need to be better than one another. We are all better off when we come together. Just focus on being a better you.
Commandant #2
Let’s not be judgemental. We all make our own choices. Let's not judge someone because they didn't make the choice you would have made.
Commandant #3
Let's block the bullshit. There is no lightskin vs darkskin; no white vs black; no hoes vs saints. There is no separation between us. We are women and we all face the same issues.
The sooner we come together, the sooner we can work together to address some of our real issues. Issues like abortion, equal opportunity, anxiety, domestic violence and more. In addition, we can help one another on a more personal level. We can all go much further together than we will ever go alone.
